Job Overview

The Pet Service Director will provide strong leadership to and ensure exceptional execution of all Pet Services for two pet concepts nationally.  Sets Pet Services strategy and has responsibility and accountability for achieving the required financial results.  Collaborates with Field Operations, Finance, Talent & Training, Marketing and Construction to ensure proper training and hiring, customer satisfaction, safety, security, operational compliance and marketing.  This role will lead all Pet Services initiatives for all US Operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of the Pet Services businesses and grow sales by working through marketing, finance and HR.
  • Create and gain alignment on monthly market area strategies, focused on district sales performance, profitability, productivity, staffing and training.
  • Partner with Field Operations for regular store visits to support, achieve, and be accountable for overall operational goals.
  • Analyze customer, sales, and cost of sales data, make recommendations to Field Operations based on analysis. 
  • Oversee the development of the appropriate strategy and actions plans for new and existing programs including: self-wash, dog behavior classes, and other complimentary pet service programs.
  • Partner with the Talent & Training Department along with store management staff to hire and maintain a well-developed staff in each location.
  • Research, evaluate, and develop new and existing business opportunities that will lead to strategic alignment and increased sales and profit in several markets throughout the country and under two different retail concepts.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to Field Operations for all pet services.
  • Be the main point of contact to support Field Operations to resolve Pet Service related customer issues quickly and appropriately.
  • Establish working routines and processes for the grooming business and other pet services, establishing clear standards for compliance to organizational policies, standards and customer centricity while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Oversee the maintenance and procurement of equipment and supplies providing all locations with safe, functioning, efficient equipment.
  • Utilize strong communication skills to communicate to Field Operations, Pet Services Staff and Corporate Partners.

Education and/or Experience
  • Minimum of 8 years management
  • Knowledge of the pet industry and grooming preferred
  • Profit & Loss financials experience preferred
Job Requirement
  • Ability to travel multi state (75%)
  • Proficient with Word, Excel and MS Office.
